Cleaning Wax Off Carpet

This is the easiest method for removing any solid stain from the carpet and it works especially great with candle wax.

Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax. Run a warm iron over the paper or cloth to heat the wax. Using a warm iron slowly press the iron on top of the paper bag or cloth. There is probably still some remaining wax that has now melted so scrape it away with the dull edge of the knife.

Now onto the carpet cleaning. Repeat step number 5 with fresh brown paper or terry cloth until the wax is all gone. The paper should absorb the wax as it melts. There are generally two options when it comes to cleaning up candle wax.

Allow the wax to freeze for about 10 minutes making sure that the wax isn t getting wet from your ice pack. Repeat until the wax is gone you may have to hold the iron in place for up to 30 seconds. Continue ironing until all of the wax is soaked up and clean the area with a carpet solvent. It s important to remove candle wax from your carpet as soon as you notice it.

The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel. Press an iron set on high over the towel for 10 seconds. Blot with a clean white cloth. Place a piece of the brown paper bag over the candle wax spill.

Run the iron over the paper keeping it in constant motion. Cut the paper bag or paper towel to the size of the spill. Cover the spill with the paper towel or bag and rub the warm iron over it. Don t let the iron get too hot or it could melt the carpet or burn the paper.

Keep your towel or bag in a manageable size because you will be moving it around a bit. Whichever method you choose will depend on your preference and what items you have to hand. Rub gently to melt and remove some of the wax and then reposition the bag to soak up more wax. The longer you wait the harder it will be to clean the wax stain.

You will need a hot iron 5 minutes of time paper preferably brown paper and a shot o. The freeze and pick method. Start by placing a plastic bag of ice or an ice pack on top of the spot. Next lay either a brown paper bag or a clean cloth directly over the affected area of your carpet.

Get any remaining bits of wax or dye stains out of the rug with a commercial cleaning solution or rubbing alcohol. Stop as soon as you begin to see wax seep into the paper. Place more ice cubes on the spot to harden remaining wax and pry it up with the knife.
